MN Women's Care Provider Profile
Christie Carter,
Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner
We're delighted to welcome Christie to Minnesota Women's Care. For more than 20 years she has been providing a diverse range of clinical care to women including reproductive endocrinology, women’s and gender health, integrative health, aesthetic medicine, and more.
Christie’s Experience
Christie Carter is a board-certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner with more than 20 years of healthcare experience caring for women through every stage of life—from fertility and family-building through menopause and healthy aging.
Christie began her career as a registered nurse and spent 13 years at the University of Minnesota Hospital, where her work in neonatal intensive care, critical care, and perioperative medicine built a strong foundation in clinical judgment and complex patient care. After earning her Master of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University with a specialty in Women’s & Gender Health, she transitioned into reproductive endocrinology, caring for women navigating infertility, hormonal conditions, and reproductive health concerns.
Her own experiences navigating fertility, health challenges, and the transitions of midlife have further shaped the way she practices medicine. They reinforced her belief that excellent healthcare requires more than treating a diagnosis—it requires listening to the person behind it, understanding what matters to her, and creating a plan that supports both her present health and her long-term well-being.
Today, Christie’s clinical interests include fertility and reproductive health, perimenopause and menopause, hormone therapy, metabolic health, preventive care, sexual health, and healthy aging. She is particularly passionate about areas of women’s health that have historically been misunderstood or underserved and helping women access the information and individualized care they need to thrive throughout every season of life.
Christie's View of Patient Care
Christie believes women deserve to be active participants in their healthcare. Her approach combines evidence-based medicine with education, prevention, thoughtful evaluation, and individualized care.
She recognizes that no two women experience fertility, hormonal changes, menopause, or aging in exactly the same way. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms or laboratory values, Christie takes time to understand each patient’s health history, concerns, lifestyle, and goals and works collaboratively to develop a plan that feels both medically sound and personally meaningful.
About her approach to care, she says:
“My hope is that every woman who walks through my door feels heard, valued, empowered, and supported—not only as a patient, but as a person. I believe knowledge is powerful, and when women understand their bodies and their options, they can make informed decisions about their health with confidence. My role is to listen, educate, advocate, and partner with each woman so she has the tools and support she needs not simply to get through each stage of life, but to truly thrive.”

In Her Spare Time
Outside of the clinic, Christie’s favorite role is being a mom. She and her husband have three children, and much of their time is spent cheering from the sidelines at their kids’ sporting events. As a family, they love traveling, attending major-league sporting events, and finding new adventures together.
Christie believes deeply in making memories, being present, and finding joy in the season of life you are in. She is equally passionate about lifting up the people around her and believes that caring for yourself is an important part of being able to show up fully for the people and purposes that matter most.
And somewhere along the way, Christie fell in love with flowers—a reminder to appreciate beauty while it is here, remain present, and embrace each season as it comes.
