MN Women's Care Provider Profile
Dr. Elizabeth Rice
Dr. Rice has returned to her native Minnesota after her medical training in Missouri, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. She is a licensed Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine with a specialization in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
As an osteopathic physician, Dr. Rice's training is similar to that of an M.D. Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine, or DOs, are fully licensed physicians who practice in all areas of medicine. Emphasizing a whole-person approach to treatment and care, DOs are trained to listen and partner with their patients to help them get healthy and stay well.
DOs receive special training in the musculoskeletal system, your body’s interconnected system of nerves, muscles and bones. Osteopathic physicians focus on prevention, tuning into how a patient’s lifestyle and environment can impact their wellbeing. DOs strive to help their patients be truly healthy in mind, body and spirit — not just free of symptoms.
Here's what Dr. Rice says about practicing medicine as an OBGYN:
I grew up in the St. Paul suburbs and it has always been my intent to bring the skills I learned in training back to the area I call home. I enjoy all aspects of OB/GYN care, but I really take joy in providing prenatal care and then seeing the beautiful family we have helped care take care of for 9 months become a reality after their new baby is born. As an OB/GYN we are blessed with the opportunity to care for women through all the key phases of their lives and I enjoy treating the individual issues that are unique to each patient.
