MN Women's Care Provider Profile
Lindsay Nelson, CNM
Certified Nurse Midwife
Lindsay has extensive experience includes all phases of labor and delivery, NICU, and women's reproductive health.
She earned her nursing degree (BSN) at St. Catherine’s University in 2008. From there, she went on to work as a labor and delivery and NICU RN for 10 years at Lakeview Hospital and St. John’s Hospital. Her passion for labor and delivery led her to pursue a Masters of Science Nurse Midwifery (MSN) at Bethel University. She is a neonatal resuscitation program (NRP) instructor and teaches NRP in many local hospitals.
Lindsay is passionate about postpartum depression and feels that through education, assessment, and advocacy we can de-stigmatize postpartum depression and support women through that journey. She believes that midwifery care extends beyond the birth room and aims to advocate for and support women on the entire continuum of women’s reproductive health.
Throughout her career, Lindsay has cared for women and families that experienced infant loss. In honor of these babies and families, Lindsay volunteers with Knitting for Nicholas, an organization that takes donated wedding dresses and makes them into Angel Gowns.
Lindsay was born and raised in the Twin Cities and enjoys all the great outdoor activities available to Minnesotans. In her free time, Lindsay enjoys spending time with her children and her two rescued pitbulls named Bubba and Nala. During the summer months Lindsay and her kids enjoy spending free time on the St. Croix River and in the winter they enjoy downhill skiing.
Lindsay's experience includes:
- Providing routine gynecology exams, including Pap smears and STI screenings
- Antenatal visits including prenatal assessment and anticipatory guidance
