What is a 3D Mammogram?
3D Mammography (breast tomosynthesis) is a new screening and diagnostic tool designed for early breast cancer detection. It can be done in conjunction with a traditional 2D digital mammogram.
The test is performed using equipment that looks like traditional 2D digital mammogram machine. Collecting the images for the 3D image takes just a few more seconds but provides the diagnostic radiologist with a much clearer image of your breast tissue.
What makes our Mammograms special?
Most often when you book a mammogram, the mammography center is big. It can be intimidating. At Minnesota Women's Care, our 3D Mammogram Center is small and comfortable. It's definitely not scary. We use the finest imaging technology in the world.

Who should get a mammogram?
We agree with the recommendations of major healthcare organizations:
Every woman over age 40 (or earlier with family history of breast cancer) should have have an annual screening mammogram. If you have a family history or other health concern, your healthcare provider may recommend one at an earlier age.
